What data do we collect?
WhenMOT does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the service. When you perform a vehicle check, we temporarily log your IP address for rate-limiting purposes only (to prevent abuse of the DVSA and DVLA APIs). This data is not stored permanently.
Cookies
WhenMOT uses only essential cookies set by WordPress to keep the site functioning. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Vehicle registration searches
Registration numbers you search are used solely to retrieve vehicle data from DVSA and DVLA APIs. They are cached briefly on our server (up to 24 hours) to improve performance. We do not build profiles of users or their vehicle searches.
Third-party data
MOT and vehicle data is retrieved from the DVSA and DVLA. Their data usage policies apply. WhenMOT does not sell or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to request deletion of any data we hold about you. Since we hold no personally identifiable data beyond temporary rate-limit counters, there is nothing persistent to delete. Contact us at hello@whenmot.co.uk with any questions.
