Yes. WhenMOT is completely free to use with no registration required. We believe everyone should have easy access to vehicle history data when buying or selling a car.
Where does the data come from?
MOT history is sourced from the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) via their official Trade API. Vehicle and tax data is sourced from the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) Vehicle Enquiry Service. Both are official UK government data sources.
How current is the data?
MOT records are updated by DVSA within 24 hours of a test being completed. Results are cached for up to 24 hours on WhenMOT to keep things fast — so the data you see is always current to within a day.
